The Beale ciphers, also referred to as the Beale Papers, are a set of three ciphertexts, one of which allegedly states the location of a buried treasure of gold, silver and jewels estimated to be worth over USD$63 million as of September 2011. Comprising three ciphertexts, the first (as yet unsolved) text describes the location, the second (solved) ciphertext the content of the treasure, and the third (unsolved) lists the names of the treasure's owners and their next of kin. The story of the three ciphertexts originates from an 1885 pamphlet detailing treasure being buried by a man named Thomas J. Beale in a secret location in Bedford County, Virginia, in the 1820s. Beale entrusted a box containing the encrypted messages to a local innkeeper named Robert Morriss and then disappeared, neve...
Treasure Legends of Virginia https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1365082962/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=timetravel21-20&camp=1789&creative=9325&linkCode=as2&creativeASIN=1365082962&linkId=ce62857013c3f40929cea3dcc9ac73ea What is it about tales of lost treasure that quickens the pulse and makes the heart skip? Perhaps the treasure hunter’s quest for the lost chest of gold stands as a symbol...a symbol of all that we have not done but would always do if given a chance. In our dreams of treasure we live during an age of discovery, when people did things for the sake of doing them, went places simply because no one had been there before. The treasure hunter personifies that sense of adventure and daring in each of us that only awaits the call to glory. Pirate gold, hidden caves, secret rooms, trea...

Join me as I travel up and down the South Branch of the Potomac river in the mountains of West Virginia in search of river treasure. I was searching a stretch of rapids that are well known to flip and dump many canoes, and have done so for generations. This area is known as "The Trough". Please watch: "The 10 Hottest Sex Positions Ranked By YOU" ➨ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BkRFntsbb8k -~-~~-~~~-~~-~- The year was 1865, and the American Civil War was drawing to a close. As the Union army marched the final path to victory, however, Confederate Secretary of the Treasury George Trenholm made one last effort to preserve the South's assets: he liquidated them. While a veritable fortune in gold, silver, and jewels had been carried by President Jefferson Davis and his men when they abandoned Richmond, Va., when they were captured, it was all gone. All of it, save a few confederate banknotes. And the most improbable part of all was the staggering 9,000 pounds of Mexican silver dollars that seemed to simply have vanished. Dozens of theories have been proposed to explain the ...

A group of young people explore the hobo camps scattered around Treasure Island on the James River near Lynchburg, VA. The island, which sits just below and to the east of Riverside Park, was once home to a sprawling YMCA camp that opened with a message from President William Taft in 1912. The Rev. Jerry Falwell bought the island in 1963, renaming it Treasure Island and using it as a church youth camp. The camp was an oasis in the summertime, complete with two swimming pools, a petting zoo and fields for horseback riding. During the 1970s, Lynchburg Baptist College (the predecessor to Liberty University) housed students on the island. Liberty’s football team used the land for practice fields and storage. The youth camp and sports facilities were wiped out by the flood and never reopen...
